Alex Duckworth is a pint-sized gal from an even tinier fishing village along Nova Scotian’s mountain-less south shore. And she’s also the gal who pushed off from a dead last finish at the National Championships when she was just a kid to now hold two Canadian Championship wins and a Canada Games gold medal.

Girl’s serious about snowboarding.

Ready to kick off her fourth year on the Canadian Halfpipe team, Alex is funded as a senior carded athlete. But that funding just doesn’t cut it. Her situation is a bit different than a lot of other Canadian athletes; her National Sport Organization has lost its budget. Costs related to travel, coaching, and access to facilities, typically covered by the NSO, are now up to Alex. And with the 2014 Russia Olympics just 18 months away, each day is a critical training day.

She’s ready to pull out all the stops. She’s going all in. And she needs your help.
To help pay for it all–because it’s bloody expensive!–Alex offers a beer delivery service to Whistler bar stars, mows lawns (in her bikini, no less), and cleans a toilet bowl with the best of ‘em. Let’s be honest: her time would be better spent in the halfpipe.
